Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a downpour advisory for most parts of the country.
According to it, all provincial departments, National Highway Authority, Frontier Works Organisation and other institutions should remain alert due to the rainy spell, which will last until Tuesday.
The Met Office has warned that the weather is likely to remain unstable in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and at a few areas of Sindh and northeast Balochistan from Thursday night to Tuesday.
It forecasts dust thunderstorm with rain in KP and scattered places in Punjab (Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal and Okara), Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Thursday night to Monday/Tuesday.
On Friday and Saturday, dust thunderstorm with rain will hit Quetta, Zhob, Harnai, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Khanewal, Rahimyar Khan, Bahwalnagar, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jaccobabad and Shaheed Banazirabad, while a dust and thunderstorm with rain will be reported in Mirpurkhas, Badin and Hyderabad areas on Monday. All institutions concerned were asked to ensure presence of staff on duty to handle emergency.
