ISLAMAABAD: Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif has only one strategy, and that is doing politics on coronavirus issue.

Reacting to a statement, he said that the National Assembly opposition leader continues issuing frivolous, oft-repeated written statements, which was his only strategy to look into national issues.

He regretted that Shahbaz Sharif even did not attend an assembly session on coronavirus, which was called on his requisition.

He asked Shahbaz Sharif to name a single serious suggestion given by him to tackle the pandemic, except for issuing political statements.

He asked the opposition leader why he did not come to the forum [National Assembly] where he was supposed to give his suggestions. He said that the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was observing every moment of changing coronavirus situation in the country and taking well-thought-out decisions, as we wanted to not only save people from the virus but also keep the economy moving. He said the strategy adopted by Prime Minister Imran Khan from the beginning, is also being adopted by the world now. He said coronavirus is a ‘developing story’ and decision are being taking according to changing situation. The special assistant said nothing could be done about a stubborn mind which was thinking of only one thing, lockdown. He said the Gulf countries and Europe were planning to get out of lockdown and open businesses with all precautions in place. He said people would have to learn living with coronavirus until a medicine is not manufactured for it. Till that time, safety lies only in taking utmost care, he added.
