Four people, who were injured after a gas cylinder exploded in the Kharadar area on May 15, succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the burns ward of the Civil Hospital, Karachi.
The incident had taken place on the fourth floor of a residential building, Bilquees Plaza. According to the neighbours, they heard the explosion while they were breaking their fast. The family was immediately shifted to the burns ward. According to a burns ward official, the victims had sustained 80 to 90 per cent burn injuries.
The deceased persons include 55-year-old Seema, 22-year-old Mehak, 23-year-old Mona and four-year-old Mahnoor, while two injured, Babar and Fatima, are under treatment with critical injuries.
Police said Seema and Mona had lost their lives on May 20 and Seema’s daughter Mehak succumbed to her injures on May 23. The fourth victim, Mahnoor, who was the granddaughter of Seema, lost her life on May 24.
