HANGU: The first convoy comprising 50 families of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) left for homes in Orakzai Agency on Tuesday.
Member National Assembly Ghazi Gulab Jamal, political administration and Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) officials were present on the occasion.
The convoy comprising 50 families left the IDPs camp in Togh Sarai in Hangu. The returning families were provided Rs35,000 as financial package and would receive ration for six months in their native areas.
During the first phase, 700 families of Ferozkhel, Mishti and Sheikhan would be sent homes in central and lower parts of Orkazai Agency. The IDPs from upper parts would return to native villages after completion of this process. An official said the 700 families would return in two weeks. Speaking on the occasion, Ghazi Gulab Jamal said that the FDMA was employing a delaying tactics in provision of packages to the returning IDPs.
