PML-N workers protest ‘indifference’ of party leaders

PESHAWAR: The activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) staged demonstration outside the Peshawar Press Club on Monday to protest against own central and provincial leaders for ignoring the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Led by the provincial
vice-president Waqif
Khan, Rashid Mehmud, Sattar Khalil, Mamoor Khan, Aminullah Buneri, Shamshad and others, the protestors chanted slogans and asked the party’s central leadership to take notice of the unrest among the workers.
The speakers recalled services of the PML-N workers, saying they had rendered sacrifices during former dictator Pervez Musharraf’s regime for the party but now their own leadership’s government ignored them and instead promoted opportunists.
They asked the PML-N leadership to hold an open court at district and tehsil levels to learn about the grievances of the workers or else they would expand their protest movement.
Meanwhile, a PML-N delegation led by the party’s Fata leader Sardar Azam Afridi and city president Imran visited the protest camp to calm down the protesters.
They asked protestors to end the protest and assured to arrange a meeting for them with central leaders.
They thanked the workers for accepting their jirga and expressed the hope that the problem would be solved within the next few days.
