Offices sealed as guard tests positive for Covid-19 in Orakzai

HANGU: The Orakzai District Headquarters, including the offices of deputy commissioner, district police officer and Communication and Works Department, were sealed after a member of DC’s security squad tested positive for the Covid-19 on Thursday.

Also, the swabs of all the staff members of all the government departments and the security personnel deployed there had been taken and sent to the laboratory for coronavirus test while the visit and entry of people to the district headquarters was banned forthwith.

Confirming the coronavirus case, Orakzai DC Wasil Khan Khattak said that a guard of his security squad identified as Rahmatullah had reported positive for the Covid-19. He said that the infected security guard had gone to his home in Darra Adamkhel and it was possible he

might have contracted the viral disease in his native town.

He said that entire district headquarters including his offices were sealed and the swabs of all the staff members of all the government departments and the security personnel sent to the laboratory for coronavirus test.

Briefing reporters, the official said that there were a total of seven confirmed patients of coronavirus in Orkazai while 30 suspected patients were in quarantine centres of the district. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Nisar Ahmad Khan ordered the sealing of district headquarters and banned entry of people into its premises. Later, chemical spray was carried out to disinfect the buildings of district headquarters.
