Man, nephew gunned down in Gulshan-e-Iqbal
A man and his nephew were gunned down in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Thursday.
The Aziz Bhatti police, quoting the initial investigation, said that the men were on their way to the New Sabzi Mandi early in the morning when someone shot them in the chest, killing the two on the spot.
Rescuers conveyed the bodies of the victims to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities where they were identified as 55-year-old Wazir Ahmed, son of Rasool Bukhsh, and his nephew as 40-year-old Zafar Hussain, son of Allah Bachayo.
According to SHO Adeel Afzal, the victims were fruit vendors and residents of Ghausia Colony. The officer suspected that they might have been killed over a personal enmity, adding that the police did not find any empty shell of the pistol used in the incident. The police investigators were looking for CCTV camera footage to seek help in solving the murder mystery.
Man, daughter injured
A man and his daughter were stabbed and injured at their house in Korangi’s Sector 32-C on Thursday.
They were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical treatment where the man was identified as 55-year-old Irshad, son of Ramzan, and his daughter as 35-year-old Arfa.
According to the Korangi police, the incident took place during a scuffle over a family dispute.
Moreover, 20-year-old Arsalan, son of Marjan, was wounded in a firing incident in an area of the Korangi district. He was taken to the JPMC for medical attention.
The Landhi police said the man was injured for putting up resistance to a mugging bid. A case has been registered while an investigation is under way.
