LAHORE: PML-N President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has slammed an anti-Muslim campaign and mob violence against Muslims by India's ruling BJP government.

In a statement on Tuesday, he said the BJP is an extremist, narrow-minded and racist RSS-inspired party. This party is abusing the state power to oppress and exterminate all minorities, especially Muslims. He said: "The BJP is working on the agenda of ethnic cleansing of minorities, particularly Muslims of India. The desecration of the Babri Mosque, Muslim massacre in Gujarat, Samjhota Express tragedy and the discriminatory Citizenship Act are some of the examples of the BJP mindset. And now Muslims are being blamed for the spread of Covid-19 in India."

Shahbaz said Narendra Modi's government is following in Adolf Hitler's footsteps and is targeting Muslims just the way Hitler targeted Jews.

He urged the UNSC and the international community to stop Indian government from the mass murder of Kashmiris by Indian forces.

He said the US, Britain, European Union and others should guard the Kashmiris against these brutalities of the Indian government.

He called for an immediate meeting of the OIC to pressure India to retreat all these steps including the notorious citizenship act.

He said the protection of human rights of all Muslims is the basic duty of the OIC.

He said PML-N endorses American, British, Kuwaiti and Iranian call to end India's draconian and brutal oppression of Muslims.

He said he hopes the OIC will come up with an actionable agenda and strategy to protect the rights and lives of Indian Muslims.
