FDA officials assigned duties to assist district admin to control Covid-19

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Development Authority Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja has assigned the duties to the FDA officers/officials to assist the district administration for controlling Covid-19 pandemic.

The officers/officials would look after 180 passengers/pilgrims coming from abroad at the Faisalabad International Airport through a flight and would perform duties at the Quarantine Centre of the GC University New Campus on Jhang Road in three shifts.

The FDA Director General appointed Estate Management Director Dr Anam Sajid Malik as Liaison Officer in this regard. An office order had been issued by the FDA Director General and directed the duty staff to deliver services as national obligation to cope with the coronavirus threat.

According to the office order, the three teams had been formed to work in three shifts. The team of first shift would perform duties under the supervision of TEPA Director Shahid Gill while Assistant Director Qamar Shahzad, Senior Programmer Ghulam Shabbir Sajid, junior clerk Furqan Pervez, junior clerk Muhammad Amjad, junior clerk Tassadaq Nadeem and naib qasid Sattar Masih were in the team.

The incharge of second shift team would be Planning and Development Director Hassan Zaheer while members would be Assistant Director Engineering Talah Tabbasum Sher, Assistant Director Kachi Abadi Gulam Rasul, Sub Engineer Imran Khan Building Inspector Honey Shahzad, junior clerk Afzal Masih and naib qasid Imran Ali.

The team of third shift would be headed by Estate Management Directed Sohail Masood while Assistant Director Estate Management Asif Hussain Gill, PA to Director Estate Management Rana Liaqat Ali, junior clerks Imran Sheikh, Javed Iqbal, Mubashar Sattar and helper Muhammad Imran had been included to perform duties at the quarantine centre. Meanwhile, Additional Director General Amir Aziz held meeting with the duty officers/officials and passed necessary directions to them.

He informed that the safety kits would be provided to them with all other requirements. He directed for ensuring availability of the necessary item of daily use at the quarantine centre and said that the meal for Sehr and Iftar would be provided by the FDA.

RPO inspects SSP office: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Riffat Mukhtar Raja Tuesday visited the office of the SSP (Operations) Syed Ali Raza and checked various branches of the office.The RPO directed the police officials to act upon the government instructions regarding coronavirus pandemic. He asked the cops to adopt preventive and precautionary measures against coronavirus besides providing safe and secured atmosphere to lives and properties of the people. He also issued direction to accelerate efforts to arrest of criminals.

Rain trips 40 feeders: Heavy rain Tuesday tripped some 40 feeders on Monday night.

According to Fesco spokesman, due to heavy rain and wind storm, the electricity supply was suspended from 40 feeders at Faisalabad, Jhang, Shorkot, Pir Mehal, Mianwali, Bhakkar and others parts of the region. However, the engineering staff of the company started work for restoration of electricity supply immediately. The power supply has been restored in some parts and it would be restored completely in other areas very soon.

PHP police recovers stolen cattle: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) police Tuesday claimed to recover stolen cattle worth Rs 2 million from cattle lifters.

According to SSP Patrolling Police Faisalabad region Chaudhry Farooq Ahmad Hundal, the PHP team led by ASI Muhammad Ali was on their routine patrolling at night when they spotted five suspects carrying buffaloes near Chak 35-GB Sitiana Road. Seeing the police van, the accused fled away leaving the cattle. The police took cattle into custody and returned to their owners after verification, he added.
