97 arrested in Kohat
KOHAT: The district administration has rounded up 97 shopkeepers and traders for violating the government imposed ongoing lockdown and registered cases against them under the Disaster Management Act in Kohat district. The action was taken against the violators at the main bazaar, Lachi Bazaar, Gumbat Bazaar, shops on Rawalpind, Bannu, Peshawar and Hangu roads and some areas in the Cantonment. As many as 97 shopkeepers and traders were arrested for violating the lockdown and cases were registered against them under the Disaster Management Act. It may be mentioned here that government extended the ongoing lockdown until May 9 aimed at stemming the fast-increasing coronavirus cases in the country. Last month, the governmnet had imposed a countrywide lockdown closing down shops, markets, shopping centres, and government and private offices except for emergency service, in a bid to curb the surging COVID-19 cases.
