SUKKUR: The spiritual leader of the Hur Jamaat and chief of the PML-F, Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashdi (Pir Pagara), said on Monday that the Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, has been bravely defending the integrity and sovereignty of the country, and his bravery has made him very popular in the country.
He said this at an Eid Millan party he had hosted in honour of the people of Khairpur at the Kingri House.
Pir Pagara said that the crackdown on corrupt people, land grabbers and criminals launched by NAB was a result of the keen interest of the COAS to make Pakistan free of corruption.
He said that some very influential people involved in corruption, who had sucked the blood of the innocent people of the country, were likely to be arrested. The chief of the PML-F said that summoning of PPP meetings in Dubai by Asif Ali Zardari had been giving an impression that Zardari might not return to the country.
Pir Pagara said that Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif had been trying to weaken the federation.
He said that the agriculture package announced by the prime minister was for certain peasants of Lahore only and not for the peasants of other provinces.
Pir Pagara said that the operation in Karachi was a result-oriented exercise, and it had been initiated by the Rangers on the demand of the stakeholders of Karachi, so now criticism of the operation by the stakeholders was not justified.
He said that the ongoing operation encouraged trade and business growth.
Pir Pagara on the occasion chatted with the people present there and asked them to tell him about what they thought of the measures taken by the COAS for internal and external security of the country to which the people said that they had been very happy and would like to urge the COAS to accelerate the action against the corrupt mafia and the terrorists.
