PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is providing safety equipment to hospitals and various departments to counter coronavirus in the province, says a press release.
A total of 5,03,000 different types of facemasks , 15140 personal protective equipment, 127,000 gloves, 1700 hygiene kits, 43,000 surgical caps, 9270 gowns, 4130 shoe covers, 48,000 safety suits, 8200 beds with bed sheets, 860 litres sanitizers, 870 litres chlorine,100 thermal guns,4500 biohazard bags, and 22 spray machines have been sent to district administrations for quarantine centres, health departments, hospitals and other relevant departments.
It said that PDMA has also provided food packages and drinks to district administrations of Peshawar and Khyber for quarantine centres and also for Bakakhel TDPs camp, Peshawar Central Jail, Zamung Kor (orphans centres), SOS village and Darul Aman under the supervision of the Directorate of Social Welfare, KP for further distribution to orphan children and poor widows. He further also said that keeping in view social distancing and precautionary measures due to the corona epidemic, the video-conference system has been installed for contact with all the districts.
