PPP blames Centre for not helping Sindh govt
LAHORE:Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab President Ch Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday accused the federal government of not providing resources to Sindh to tackle the coronavirus crisis.
Addressing a presser, the PPP leader said that the pandemic did not climb to this level if the federal government took advice from them. He highlighted that the federation held more resources than the provinces. We appreciate every good initiative taken by the Centre. Sindh helped 100,000 families by giving them Rs 6,000 while the federal government was giving Rs12,000 each he said and termed it a upright step. Kaira added that PPP has been opposed the plan of providing ration to people facing economic suffering due to the coronavirus as it is comparatively a tough task. Talking about federal minister s criticism on the Sindh government he said that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah talk about the prime minister during his press conference in decent words but the PTI spokesperson launched a campaign against him.
Calling for halting politics is ignorance he said adding that problems surfaced when politics was not done. International organistations appreciated the performance of the Sindh CM but prime minister shied away from talking about him. Problems stemmed in a society when timely actions are not taken he said and recalled that the prime minister in his first address on coronavirus had opposed imposition of the lockdown.
