Police ensure peaceful distribution of aid at Ehsaas centres

LAHORE:The police continued to ensure peaceful and disciplined distribution of financial assistance among the deserving citizens under Ehsaas Programme on 4th day of the distribution.

Around 1,000 police officers and officials were deputed at all the Ehsaas Program Disbursement Centres of the city. Strict security arrangements by the police were witnessed on all the Cash Distribution Centres and the process of financial assistance remained smooth and peaceful throughout the day. Police officers and officials ensured implementation on Queue Management System and other necessary precautions among the citizens who arrived at Distribution Centres for cash handouts.

security for quarantined patients: DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed has said police have provided foolproof security to the persons quarantined at different places and special teams comprising police officers and Jawans have been constituted.

Police continued to ensure measures including strict implementation of Section 144 to contain the unnecessary movement of the public in the city during the partial lockdown in wake of Coronavirus.

Lahore Police Operations Wing has set up special pickets in different areas of the city to contain people from unnecessary movement. DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed said that 1,846 FIRs have been registered against persons involved in violations of Sections 144. More than 01 lac 51 thousands citizens have been checked at these pickets till now since the lock down whereas more than01 lac 41 thousands 200 persons have been asked to contain their unnecessary movement in the city and go back to their homes.

More than 4100 citizens involved in were release afterwards taking warranty bonds as not to move again in city unnecessarily. As many as 130,769 vehicles including 74,393 motorcycles, 25,870 cars, 19859 rickshaws, 3628 taxis and 7019 bigger vehicles were stopped on pickets and vehicles owners were issued warnings for unnecessary movement in the city. DIG Operations has made appeal with the citizens to cooperate with police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, refrain from any unnecessary movement in the city. Lahore Police has provided foolproof security to the persons quarantined at different places and special teams comprising Police officers and Jawans have been constituted who are well equipped with safety measures and kits including masks, gloves and sanitizers for this purpose.

promoted: On the directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Zulfiqar Hameed, 41 traffic wardens have been promoted to the rank of senior traffic warden.

The CCPO and DIG Investigation pinned the badges of rank on the shoulders of the promoted traffic wardens at CCPO office here on Tuesday. The CCPO congratulated them and said that now they should perform their duties with more dedication and honesty.

City Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Hamad Abid and SSP Admin Liaquat Ali Malik were also present. The promoted wardens included Salma Shaheen, Samina Anjum, Raja Ijaz and Fayyaz Bhatti.

Appointed: Faisal Shahzad assumed the charge of the post of SSP Operations Lahore on Tuesday. The staffers of his new office welcomed him and presented him a bouquet.
