KHAR: The first phase of disbursement of relief cash under the Ehsaas Programme to poor families affected by the coronavirus lockdown kicked off here on Saturday.
Hundreds of deserving families were given Rs12,000 per month in the first phase under the Ehsaas Programme at 41 designated points in the schools of the district. Deputy Commissioner Usman Mehsud visited the schools where the sale points for cash disbursement to the poor had been established and inspected the arrangements and precautionary steps in place against the Covid-19 spread.
He directed the staff to expedite work on the cash disbursement to the deserving people so they could get the relief without any hassle. He said the daily wage earners affected by the corona pandemic lockdown were the government’s top priority.
He said that the sale points would be expanded and the financial help would be extended to more needy families and daily wagers in the second and third phases. The DC appealed the people to follow government instructions and stay home to contain the spread of fast-travelling viral infection.
