MIANWALI: On the direction of the government, the Social Welfare department in collaboration with NGOs and philanthropists Thursday distributed 756 food hampers among lockdown-hit people. Addressing a meeting at the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, Deputy Director Social Welfare said 130 masks were delivered to 2,718 people, sanitizers to 130 families, zinc kits to 100 families. He said pamphlets regarding precautionary measures regarding the pandemic as directed by the government of Punjab distributed among 1,245 people, 2,045 people were informed through phone calls while awareness SMS were forwarded to 14,422 people in district.
