Cop, criminal killed during encounter in Sujawal

SUKKUR: A CIA personnel and a criminal were killed in a police encounter during a raid in Sujawal.

Reports said the CIA Sujawal and the local police from Jhongo Jalbani Police Station had jointly raided a local village Mallah near Dera Farm after a tip-off over the presence of wanted criminals, Ramzan Gujrio Mallah and Ghulam Rasool Shah, who managed to escape after snatching the weapon from a policeman. When the law enforcers raided, the criminals opened fire, in which a CIA personnel identified as Shah Nawaz Behermani was killed. SP Sujawal Suhai Aziz Talpur, with additional forces from Badin and Thatta, cordoned off the entire area and during the encounter a criminal identified as of Nazeer Pakhero Mallah was killed. The police shifted the bodies of the police official and a criminal to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, the SP Sujawal said the operation would be continued until the removal of the last criminal of the gang.
