Strict compliance of Section 144 in Faisalabad range ordered

FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rifat Mukhtar Raja has directed the CPO Faisalabad and DPOs of Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Chiniot districts to strictly impose Section 144 in their respective districts.

The RPO said that under the section, assembly of five or more persons had been banned by the government and challan those commuters and motorcyclists who defy the government orders. In a directive issued to the police officers, the RPO also ordered the police officers of the Faisalabad Range to personally monitor and check the security measures in their respective districts and do not yield to any pressure for implementation of the lockdown in their areas and also inspect the police stations in their jurisdictions to ensure that these police stations were operating effectively.

The RPO said that he would personally visit a number of police stations in Faisalabad Range to ensure their proper functioning and also inspect their records and especially the working of Front Desk. Meanwhile, the RPO conducted a surprise inspection of the Shorkot police station and thoroughly checked the working of Front Desk, pendency of the cases and the police record and directed the SHO to pursue the cases in the courts for their early disposal.

Exhorting the need for complete vigilance, the RPO directed the District Police Offers to protect the life and property of the citizens and provide justice to the people especially in the current emergency situation. He appreciated the role of policemen who were performing their duties dedicatedly round the clock. The RPO said that after the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the duties of police force had become manifold and exhorted the police officials to play their pivotal role for maintaining peace in their respective districts to effectively cope with this odd condition.

MEETING TO REVIEW ANTI-DENGUE ARRANGEMENTS: A meeting was held to review the anti-dengue arrangements at the Commissioner Office on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Ishrat Ali while Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, ADCR Mian Aftab Ahmad, Additional Commissioners Rai Wajid Ali, Mehboob Ahmad, DHA CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, DHO Dr Bilal Ahmad, District Coordinator Epidemics Control Dr Aurangzeb and other officers from different departments also attended the meeting. The deputy commissioners of Jhang, TT Singh and Chiniot also joined the meeting through video link.

The commissioner reviewed the performance of departments in connection with anti-dengue and said daily activity could not stop to curb the chances of dengue. He said that the officers of concerned departments should be active in field to achieve the desire results of the anti-dengue campaign.

He asked for submitting departmental performance reports regarding surveillance and prevention activities daily. He cleared that the carelessness and dereliction from duties should not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the officials showing poor performance in this regard. The commissioner said that the strict monitoring of the anti-dengue measures was being carried out by the divisional administration to make the preventive and precautionary measures a success on durable basis. He asked the concerned departments to take the dengue issue very serious and dengue surveillance, clinical and medical services awareness campaign and other departmental measures should be implemented with full responsibility. District Coordinator for Epidemics diseases Dr Aurangzeb gave detailed briefing on indoor and outdoor surveillance during the meeting.

Two killed, as many injured in accident: Two persons were killed while two others sustained critical injuries when a truck collided with a car near Samundri on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, the unfortunate incident occurred due to the negligence of the car driver as he could not control the vehicle due to over speeding. The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal and legal formalities, they further stated.
