Buzdar satisfied with measures against Covid-19
LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took an aerial view of the lockdown situation of Lahore City and its surrounding areas.
He observed closure of different markets and trade centres due to the lockdown. The streets and surrounding areas of Lahore city were devoid of traffic and the markets appeared deserted.
Usman Buzdar expressed satisfaction over the government's measures taken for the people’s protection and lauded the efforts of police, Pakistan Army and Rangers. He said that measures had been taken to protect the health and life of the people. The outbreak of Coronavirus can only be prevented if people stay at homes. He thanked the people of Punjab, including Lahorites for following the government’s instructions. He said the police, army and Rangers were doing the exemplary role. He said the government was keeping a vigilant eye on the situation caused by Coronavirus. Usman Buzdar said that he was reviewing the implementation of government’s orders by visiting different cities. He said that it was his mission to protect the citizens of Punjab from Coronavirus. He thanked the transporters and the trading community for following the instructions for the prevention from Coronavirus.
LCCI donation: A two-member delegation of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) comprising of its president Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and vice-president Mian Zahid Javed Ahmed called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here Friday.
LCCI President Irfan Sheikh presented a cheque for Rs10 million to the CM for Chief Minister Fund for Corona Control. The chief minister thanked the LCCI for donation adding that philanthropic passion of the industrialists was praiseworthy. The gesture of helping the affectees also encourages others and Islam also teaches its followers to help the people in need, he added. It is the time to help those who face difficulties and the rich should come forward to donate for others, the CM said. Usman Buzdar said the government was working hard to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic and vowed that this battle will be won with the support of the people. The government has taken every step to secure the people’s lives, he continued. Irfan Sheikh appreciated the efforts made by the Punjab government and assured of full cooperation to the government. Schools Education Minister Murad Raas was also present.
