24 corona positive cases in Hazara Division

ABBOTTABAD: The positive cases of coronavirus have increased to 24 in Hazara division, out of which 12 had travel history; however, all the patients are stated to be in a stable condition.

According to daily progress report, out of total 142 samples tested for corona, 24 were declared positive whereas 76 were declared negative. The corona positive cases include 12 in Abbottabad, eight in Mansehra, and four in Haripur.

Most of them were quarantined at their residences while three were admitted to Ayub Teaching Hospital; two were staying at a hotel while one patient was shifted to Islamabad.

Twelve patients having travel history include three from Kyrgyzstan, three from England, two from Saudi Arabia, one each from Nepal & US while two others came from Quetta and Gilgit. The city is quiet due to lockdown as most of the bazaars, markets and shopping plazas remained closed while very thin traffic was witnessed on roads. Similarly, doctors’ clinics in all the plazas remained closed for last one week. However, several doctors have offered free telemedicine facility to their patients.

Traders and shopkeepers have also been facing financial hardships due to closure of their shops and markets. Water and Sanitation Services media manager Umar Swati told The News that they have established 50 hand-washing stations in fruit and vegetable market, hospitals, bazaars and other public places in the city besides using disinfectant sprays and displaying banners and posters for public awareness regarding precautionary measures against Covid-19.
