LAHORE:Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) will increase the number of heavy vehicles for washing of roads and important buildings with chlorinated water in the provincial metropolis.
This was decided in an important meeting held in Wasa head office to finalise steps for elimination of Coronavirus from the city. Senior officials of Local Government department and LWMC participated in the meeting chaired by Wasa Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz. The meeting discussed technicalities in increasing number of heavy vehicles for spraying medicines to kill the virus. It was decided that Wasa would provide more heavy vehicles for this job.
Wasa MD said that these vehicles would be added to the squad in the next two three days. The meeting also decided to use similar vehicles in other parts of the province.
Meanwhile, Wasa MD while talking to the media said that funds provided for Wasa's mega projects were intact and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank would provide final funding to Wasa in June 2020. He said ECNIC had already approved three mega projects, including Waste Water Treatment Plant, Tunnel Boring and Surface Water projects.
