PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Sherpao said on Sunday that the government should focus attention on implementing the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism in order to prevent attacks in future.
In a statement, the QWP chief said the attack on the Pakistan Air Force Camp in Badaber was the second biggest terror incident after the Army Public School assault.
He added that the entire nation was in a state of anger and tension over the loss of lives of security forces and civilians in the attack.
“The nation has a resolve to uproot terrorism and they support the security forces,” he maintained.
Sherpao said the Pakistan Army had played a significant role in the fight against terrorism, adding that security forces’ achievements should not be overshadowed by such kind of lapses.
He said the security agencies should establish effective coordination in order to prevent terrorist incidents.
The QWP chief said that due to disinterest of the federal and provincial governments, the issue of tackling terrorism worsened and adversely impacted socio-economic life of people.
