Minister, CS say comprehensive plan in place to deal with situation

PESHAWAR: KP Health Minister Taimoor Khan Jhagra and Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz have said the provincial government has a comprehensive plan to deal with the situation arising out of the coronavirus in the province and will periodically review that.

They said the experiences of other countries were being replicated to deal with the outbreak here. Both hoped the people would have a normal life as soon as possible. They said this in Saidu Sharif, Swat district during a meeting at the office of Malakand Commissioner said an official handout. Provincial ministers Mohibullah Khan, Dr. Amjad Ali, GOC Malakand Major General Ijaz Mirza, Brigade Commander Brigadier Naseem Anwar, Malakand Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud, Deputy Chairman DDAC Swat Fazal Hakim Khan Deputy Commissioner Swat Saqib Raza and others. The commissioner talked of the prevailing situation in all the nine districts of the Malakand Division and the steps taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. A detailed briefing was made on the issues and practical actions discussed. Major General Ijaz Mirza informed the meeting about the overall plan, especially preparations for the public services by the Pak Army in aid of the civil administration. The health minister said the provincial government was taking steps to provide facilities to strengthen the Health Department. The chief secretary told the meeting that an extraordinary meeting would be held today (Tuesday) to be chaired by the chief minister to take decisions on the coronavirus prevention and ensuring social distancing.
