People should stay at home: statement issued by clerics

LAHORE: Imam-e-Harmain Al-Sharifain Al-Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais said that people should stay homes by ensuring implementation of directives of their respective governments. He urged upon people not to shake hands and stay away from all sorts of gatherings.

In a joint statement, Mufti-e-Azam Palestine Mehmood Al-Abash, Sheikhul Azhar Al-Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyab, World Islamic League Secretary General Dr Muhammad bin Abdul Karim, Mufti-e-Azam Egypt Dr Shauqi Alam, Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, Dr Qibla Ayyaz, Allama Abdul Haq Mujahid, Maulana Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Maulana Pir Mehfooz Mashhadi and Maulana Muhammad Khan Leghari said that Coronavirus had turned into a pandemic and entire Muslim Ummah had been observing preventive measures to stay safe against the disease.

They stated that saving one life is equivalent to saving the entire humanity. Imam-e-Harmain Al-Sharifain Al-Sheikh Abdul Rahman and Qaziul Qaza Palestine Mehmood Al-Araash prayed to Allah Almighty to protect humanity against this pandemic. They also urged upon Muslims to take care of their neighbours facing financial and hunger issues because of this pandemic. Islam is a religion of peace, harmony and forbearance. We should seek lesson from life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Prophet of Allah instructed believers not to enter the affected area nor leave it once you get stuck there. Seeking lesson from this saying of the Prophet, all the Muslims should stay inside homes and ensure safety of fellow Muslims against this pandemic.
