College directed to return money to applicants

LAHORE
Punjab University administration taking notice of overcharging (Rs 1,200) by the varsity’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT) to apply for BD programme against prescribed fee of Rs 100 has directed the college admin to return Rs 1,100 each to over 7,000 applicants.
In a letter to PUCIT Principal Dr Mansoor Sarwar on Thursday, the PU registrar warned the principal of disciplinary action for clear violation of rules.
According to details, it was decided in the meeting of PU’s central Admission Committee held on August 22, 2015 that Rs 100 (one hundred) processing fee would be charged from students. All the departments of Punjab University are charging this amount from candidates for each admission form and charging Rs 200 for prospectus.
However, the PUCIT is demanding Rs 1,200 demand draft from candidates for online processing of admission forms without providing any prospectus to candidates.
