SWABI: The issue of alleged illegal appointments in the Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC) on Tuesday triggered a verbal clash at the district council, forcing the opposition members to stage a walkout. Dr Abid, one of the members of treasury benches, alleged that the KP government had made illegal appointments in the GKMC.
The treasury members present in the house extended support to Dr Abid. However, Saleem Khan and Shafqat Rani, members of PTI, rejected the claim. They said the treasury benches should avoid levelling allegations against the KP government. Led by Azizullah Khan, the opposition members staged a walkout. However, District Nazim Ameer Rehman told the treasury members to bring back the opposition members into the house. They returned to the house after the treasury members assured them that allegations against the provincial government would not be made in future.
