A daily wager porter of the Pakistan Railways cargo section was shot dead on Saturday morning.
Rana Nazim, a father of two and a resident of Kot Khawaja Saeed, came to the Cargo Section as he did every morning. Railway police told The News that he was not formally an employee of Pakistan Railways but was a daily wager who worked as a porter and a driver at times too. CCTV footage of the incident shows two men pulling up on a motorbike and ringing someone up on their phone. After a while, Nazim came to meet them. The killers talked to him for a moment and then one of them pulled out his gun and shot Nazim multiple times.
The gunshots set a wave of panic at the Railway Station and people ran for cover, while the killers fled. The family of Nazim has hinted at personal rivalry in the murder.
bikes recovered: The Liaqatabad police arrested two bike-lifters and recovered five bikes and weapons from their possession.
The arrested bike-lifters identified as Ali Ayaz and Bilal confessed to committing such crimes in various parts of the city. DIG Operations has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police team.
