Result debacle

The results announced by the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) have left many students heart-broken. Of the 26,883 students who appeared in the examination, only 7,710 candidates were able to pass the examination.
While an official announced that due to ‘technical reasons’, there are faults in the results of 500 candidates, the figure cited by the official is not convincing. There were widespread protests in the provincial metropolis and elsewhere in the province against this massive mismanagement. Now that the Balochistan CM has formed a committee to look into the matter it is hoped that the anomalies in the results are removed and an attempt is made to have a fair assessment of all answer sheets in a reasonable time.
