Three outlaws killed, two cops injured in encounter

OKARA: Three outlaws were killed and two policemen injured in an encounter here on Wednesday night.
SHO Inspector Mehr Noshar Ahmad and his staff were on duty at Malgada Chowk when they received a wireless message that six outlaws were fleeing after injuring Maqsoodul Hassan. Following the information, police rushed to the spot and started chasing the outlaws.
Near Chak 22/4-L, police received another wireless message that the same outlaws had snatched a motorcycle, mobile phones and cash from Azam Lumberdar and his friends, residents of Chak 31/4-L. Near Old Gambar Morr, the villagers besieged the outlaws, which led to an encounter between them. In the meantime, police also reached there and took part in the encounter. As a result, three dacoits were killed on the spot while their three accomplices managed to escape. Two policemen were also injured in the encounter. Police recovered a motorcycle, mobile phones and illegal weapons from the site. The killed dacoits were later identified as Sarfraz Nawaz alias Sinu of Chak 21/2-L, Shahid Iqbal alias Shadoo Sial of Chak 51/5-L, Sahiwal, and Moin Akram of Chak 21/4L.
On August 8, the same outlaws were being taken for investigation by police when they managed to escape from their custody. A case was registered against the policemen from whose custody they had escaped.
