KARACHI: The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has decided to focus on corruption in departments dealing with the provincial capital’s affairs.
In a meeting chaired by Chairman Anti Corruption Establishment Syed Mumtaz Shah, it was decided to expedite action against corruption in provincial and local government departments dealing with the matters of Karachi.
The meeting was attended by Director Nazar Muhammad Bozdar and all three deputy directors of Karachi East, West and South.
The meeting decided to investigate the general public complaints against the alleged corruption in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Motor Vehicle Department of Sindh Excise Department, sub-registrars, Sindh Employees Social Security Employees (SESSI), Karachi fish harbor, and education department, Technical Education Board and Educational Boards of Karachi.
Shah confirmed the move and told The News that the department had directed its deputy directors to work hard for elimination of corruption in the departments of Karachi. “We have already directed five divisional heads of Sindh and today was the meeting of the last sixth and remaining division of Sindh — Karachi Division,” he said.
To a question, Shah said the department had received a lot of complaints against corruption in the KMC, KDA, KWSB, Motor Vehicle dept of Sindh Excise and technical and educational boards of Karachi.
