Importance of drawing highlighted

Islamabad : Drawing is a basic tool of art where control over pencil take you to the perfection, command on the subject and creates beauty and satisfaction, said Dr. Rahat Naveed Masud, a reno­wned painter.

He was speaking to the young artists and art students here at the National Art Gallery arranged by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.

Dr. Rahat Naveed highlighted the importance of drawing in art and in daily life as well. She elaborated that drawing is being taught to the children even in their early years because the rhythm of lines creates beauty and harmony in the life.

It helps in discovering and connecting man’s diurnal relationship with his self and nature as it was and has been since birth of human creation. It reflects clarity of thoughts and approach and refreshes the environment. An artist is incomplete without knowledge and know-how of drawing.

Dr. Rahat Masud shared tips, basic requirements with the participants. The young enthusiasts took keen interest in the talk and engaged in healthy discussion on the subject with Dr. Rahat Masud. Talk, lecture & workshop are being arranged to provide art education to the young generation to learn from the experts in the field.

Professor Dr. Rahat Naveed Masud is a recipient of numerous local and international awards, including the Presidents Pride of Performance award for her outstanding contribution to the field of Art in Pakistan, Dr. Masud has exhibited extensively globally.

A scholar and researcher, Dr. Masud have presented and published various papers and books on art.
