Usman Buzdar orders probe into small dams fraud

LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered inquiry into alleged embezzlement in the construction of small dams in Photohar during the tenure of previous government.

He directed that Chief Minister’s Inspection Team chairman would undertake investigation and submit its report to the CM Office.The chief minister said this while chairing a meeting of the national and provincial assembly members from Rawalpindi Division, said a handout issued here Wednesday. The legislators apprised the chief minister of the problems of their respective constituencies. Ongoing progress about development projects being taken in Rawalpindi Division also came under discussion.

The assembly members also put forth their recommendations with regard to annual development programme for next fiscal year.Usman Buzdar directed to take legal action against such housing schemes being set up without getting NOC.

Addressing the participants, he said that land mafia grabbing state lands would be taken to task and operation against such elements would be continued without yielding to any pressure. The chief minister also announced that construction of Ring Road Project would soon be initiated in Rawalpindi and also directed C&W Department to settle necessary matters regarding Rawalpindi Ring Road Project. Setting up Gandhara University in Taxila would also be reviewed, he added.

The project of setting up new vegetable market in Rawalpindi would be launched in Annual Development Programme of next fiscal year. He said that he had already directed to take indiscriminate action against hoarders and profiteers and district price control committees had been made active and vibrant in this regard. “We will go to the last extent for providing relief to the masses,” he asserted.

The construction work on Fateh Jhang-Pindi Gheb Road would soon be started.Project of Mother and Child Hospital would be included in the next budget while trauma centre would also be set up in Attock. A 100-bed hospital and project of postgraduate college in Kahota would also be included in the new budget while Trauma Centre in Gujjar Khan would also be made functional. The government has evolved a concrete strategy for solving the problems of people of every district, he maintained. On receiving public complaints, he directed to transfer Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue and also directed CMIT to hold inquiry against ADCR Jhelum. All possible steps would be adopted for improving traffic system in Rawalpindi Division as an effective traffic management was essential in Rawalpindi City, he emphasised.

Wah Cantt General Hospital would be made district headquarters level hospital and special grant would be allocated for the development projects of Wah Cantt area.Dialysis facility at Rawalpindi Urology Institute would soon be provided. SEHAT INSAF CARD: Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid called on the chief minister . She briefed him on the health initiatives undertaken by the government especially the Sehat Insaf Card programme.

The chief minister said that the Sehat Insaf Card was a flagship programme of the government and over 30 million people would be able to take advantage of it.The past government only created problems for the masses but the Sehat Insaf Card programme under the PTI government was a step towards fulfilling the party’s vision of serving the masses, he said, adding that this health programme would help in addressing the masses’ grievances.
