Coronavirus: monitoring room set up

LAHORE:The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Sunday set up a monitoring room at the Secretary Office for monitoring the arrangements to fight with coronavirus.

P&SHD Secretary Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman visited the monitoring room and showed his satisfaction on the arrangements.

P&SHD Secretary Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman said the monitoring room had been made functional on the directions of the Punjab chief minister and chief secretary.

The purpose of the monitoring room is to monitor the arrangements about the screening of passengers at airport and international situation of coronavirus. He said the officials of the departments concerned would be present under the one roof to work day and night.

He said that a comprehensive plan had been made to deal with the coronavirus according to the directions of the federal government. Seminars on coronavirus stressed: Punjab Information Technology Teachers Association has suggested the government to hold awareness seminars about coronavirus in educational institutions.

In a press release issued here on Sunday, the office-bearers of Punjab Information Technology Teachers Association, Muhammad Aqeel, Aman Ullah and others observed that keeping in view global health threat caused by coronavirus there was a dire need to create awareness about preventive measures against coronavirus among students and teachers.

They said the situation might be worst ifthe virus spread in a developing country like Pakistan which over the years has failed to control polio. They said the government should hold awareness seminars at educational institutions about preventive measures against coronavirus.
