LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said US President Donald Trump’s formula on Kashmir issue will not be accepted in any way.

Kashmir issue can be settled only through United Nations’ resolutions, he said, adding, “We also reject Mr. Trump’s formula for resolving Palestine issue.” He was addressing “Solidarity Kashmir Conference” organised by a trust on Kashmir Solidarity Day here on Wednesday.

Former Chief Justice Mian Mehboob Ahmed, former MNA Mehnaz Rafi, former Senator Naeem Hussain Chattha, Dr Rafique Ahmed, Mian Shahid Rasheed, Mian Farooq Altaf and other were also present. The governor said Kashmir was Pakistan and Pakistan was Kashmir, and both could not be separated. He said Kashmiris were raising slogan of “Kashmir Baney Ga Pakistan” (Kashmir will become Pakistan) even in front of Indian tanks and guns. He said “The people of Indian-Held Kashmir (IHK) are struggling against tyrannies and barbarism, and they, actually, are fighting our war. People of Kashmir love Pakistan. Today, American Senate, Congress, European Parliament and British Parliament are echoing with voice for the rights of Kashmiris following sincere efforts of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.” Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar said that on the issue of Kashmir, US President Donald Trump was requested for mediation to get Kashmir dispute settled in accordance with the UN resolutions and no Trump formula of any sort would be accepted for Kashmir issue.

The UN and other international organisations should play their roles in resolving the serious issue according to the provisions of the UN resolutions. Chaudhry Sarwar said every Pakistan would sacrifice even their last drop of blood for liberation of Kashmir.

He said Quaid-i-Azam had already deemed Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah had termed Kashmir the soul of Pakistan, therefore, no world power can separate Paksitanis from Kashmiris.

Despite imposition of curfew in occupied Kashmir for the last 185 days and turning the occupied Kashmir into world’s biggest prison by one million troops of India, the Kashmiris’ quest for freedom is still unflinching.

No doubt, Kashmiris are struggling to defend the jugular vein of Pakistan, said the Punjab governor. He said Modi earned even more hatred for himself by introducing controversial Citizenship Amendment Act against Indian Muslims.

India must realise that Kashmiris’ voice cannot be suppressed through gun and bullet. Today, voice is being raised against Indian atrocities and in favour of Kashmiris at all the international forums, including European Parliament.

In addition to Pakistan and India, the Kashmiris themselves are also the stakeholder in Kashmir issue, and no dialogue can be held and succeed without taking them on board, said Chaudhry Muhamamd Sarward. Pakistan will take along Kashmiris at every forum and is ready to render any sort of sacrifice for freedom of Kashmir, he said.

He said IHK was disconnected from the rest of the world and facing shortage of daily-used items and other life amenities. Former Chief Justice Mian Mehboob Ahmed and former MNA Mehnaz Rafi said that 220 million people of Pakistan were with Kashmiris and Pakistan was incomplete without Kashmir. “We demand of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and the entire government to expedite efforts on diplomatic front for liberation of Kashmiris and expose tainted face of India to the global community.

They said Kashmiris must get rid of Indian aggression not tomorrow but today. They said that Narendra Modi was a terrorist who is committing terrorism against Muslims in Indian and Kashmiris in IHK. “We in no way will remain silent over it,” they stated.
