BARA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shafiq Afridi on Sunday said that reconstruction work on the 25 schools destroyed during the decade-long militancy in Bara subdivision would soon be launched to facilitate students and promote education in the area.
Speaking at the annual performance awards distribution ceremony at a private educational institution here as chief guest, the lawmaker said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was making strenuous efforts to streamline education and other departments in the merged districts.
The Bara Educational Society had arranged the annual performance awards distribution ceremony.
Shafiq Afridi said that the children in the erstwhile tribal areas remained deprived of education due to militancy and military operations. He said that now the time had come to bring back all the government departments on the track to provide all basic facilities to the people at their doorstep.
"Our children are talented and hardworking but lack of facilities, guidance and conducive environment are the main hurdles to hone their skills,” the MPA said, adding that providing education and health facilities to the people of merged districts was top priority of the PTI government. He pledged that development schemes would be completed under a master plan in the area.
He also said that government schools would be upgraded and all ghost schools would be closed.
