Three siblings arrested for ‘killing brother’ in Korangi
Three siblings were arrested on Sunday for their alleged involvement in the murder of their brother in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area about a week ago.
According to police, a man identified as Abid, son of Babu Din, was found slaughtered inside a rickshaw within the limits of the Korangi Industrial Area police station on January 27. Subsequently, a case was registered by his siblings against unidentified killers.
However, the police later arrested the victim’s two brothers and a sister for their alleged involvement in the murder. The arrested suspects are Amir, and Kamran and Samreen.
The police claimed that during an interrogation the suspects admitted to killing Abid with an axe, a knife and an iron rod at an empty plot in Nasir Colony, Korangi Industrial Area.
According to the police, the suspects maintained that the deceased man was a rickshaw mechanic and also a thief.
The police said Abid used to force his sister to commit crimes with him. The arrested brothers were said to have told the police that Samreen used to complain that Abid had involved her in criminal activities against her will. They were said to have told the police that they planned to kill Abid and executed their plan on the night of January 27.
The police said the killers dumped the body and then registered with police a murder case against unidentified persons.
Woman, man ‘end lives’
A woman was suspected to have ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in Karachi’s Ibrahim Hyderi locality.
According to the Ibrahim Hyderi police, the incident took place at a house located at Bhittai Nagar, Altaf Nagar.
The police said rescuers moved the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy. The woman was identified as 40- year-old Ishrat, wife of Imran.
According to SHO Asimur Rehman, the deceased woman had her second marriage with a person, namely Imran, and that she had a son and a daughter from her first husband. The motive behind her alleged suicide was yet to be ascertained, he added.
In another incident, a man allegedly ended his life by hanging himself in Karachi’s Sukkan area.
According to the Sukkan police, the incident took place at a house located at 500-Quarters in Labour Square area. The body was taken to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
The police said the deceased person was identified as 25-year-old Babar, son of Hashmat.
