Robbers injure man on resistance
LAHORE:Robbers shot at and injured a man on resistance in the Raiwind City police limits on Monday. The victim, identified as Umar, was riding a car when robbers intercepted him and demanded cash and valuables. The victim offered resistance to which they opened firing leaving him injured. Police reached the scene after being informed and collected evidence.
Separately, three robbers intercepted a biker on Ichhra Canal Road-II and deprived him of his bike, cell phone and cash. The victim, Nadeem, said police have been using delaying tactics and pushing him to lodge an FIR of theft instead of robbery. Yet in another incident, three thieves broke into over a dozen shops in Gujjarpura in the wee hours of Monday and made away with valuables.
They could not get cash from drawers. The thieves broke open the shutters of a number of shops at Tandooron Wala Chowk in Nizamabad. Police responded late due to match security. Traders lodged a protest against police and demanded security.
