NLF threatens protest in front of Lal Haveli
Rawalpindi: The National Labour Federation (NLF) has threatened to stage protest demonstration in front of Lal Haveli against forced retirement and transfer of employees associated with the Pakistan Railways Prem Union.
Addressing a protest demonstration at Rawalpindi Railway Station, the NLF President Shamsur Rehman Swati asked the Minister for Railways Shaikh Rashid Ahmad to stop victimisation of employees of Railways at Rawalpindi division through illegal orders of forced retirement and transfers. "We will hold protest demonstration in front of Lal Haveli and will force Minister for Railways to leave Rawalpindi," he said.
He said that forced retirement and transfers of employees was not only violation of human rights but also against spirit of Constitution and democracy.
The NLF president alleged that management of Pakistan Railways in Rawalpindi division was forcing employees to withdraw a case from the Lahore High Court. "The case from the court will not be withdrawn and the management will have to wait for the decision," he said.
Meanwhile, the NLF has also condemned dismissal of office bearers of CBA union of Foundation Power Plant and demanded of the management to withdraw its orders.
In a statement, the NLF President said that office bearers of the CBA union were not allowed to enter premises of the power plant and ultimately they were removed for righting a letter to the management to convey demands of employees.
