58 colleges to offer degree classes
The Sindh college education department has decided to commence degree classes at 58 intermediate colleges after affiliating these institutions with the University of Karachi (KU).
The Directorate of the College Education Karachi has directed the principals of 35 state-run colleges to initiate the process of affiliation with KU for starting degree classes. As per a notification issued on Tuesday, all prerequisites for affiliation must be completed within 15 days while the process of affiliation by the administration of colleges should be done within three to four days.
The notification reads: “as per the policy of the college education department, the officials of the department have taken various steps to upgrade intermediate colleges up to degree level.” After the completion of the affiliation process, the department will start degree classes at 58 colleges, including 35 girls and 23 boys colleges.
