Rawalpindi: People have rejected the sharp increase in the gas tariff and have urged the government to revoke its decision.
While talking to ‘The News’, residents of different areas said that the sharp increase in gas tariff is unacceptable. The government has decreased prices of petroleum products and increased gas tariff so there seems to be no relief for public, they added.
It merits mentioning here that for domestic consumers, the gas price has been increased by 13%. First slab has been set at Rs110, second at Rs220 while the third has been set at Rs600.
The residents of twin cities have urged the government to take this decision back and reduce the gas tariff. They said despite giving relief packages, the government has failed to check high ratio of inflation, which is creating problems for them.
Umar Ahmed, a resident of Chakri Road, said that they are already burdened by inflation. But now the government has dropped another bomb of sharp increase in gas tariff, which is unjustified for domestic consumers.
