Opposition's in-house desire is pipe dream: Chaudhry Sarwar
LAHORE:Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that mid-term elections and toppling of the government will remain mere a dream of the opposition, as the government will complete its constitutional term of five year.
He was talking to the media after inaugurating a hospital here on Sunday. Provincial Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik, Haji Muhammad Ramazan and others were also present.
The Punjab governor said that everyday, the opposition came up with new gimmick just for its political gains. Every opposition party is watching its own interest only, while their politics of personal interests has already been exposed to the nation.
Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that opposition since the inception of PTI government had been talking and claiming of the government toppling but every time their tall claims proved false. This time also, he added, the opposition’s dream of mid-term elections or an in-house change would remain mere a dream which had nothing to do with reality because Pakistanis were very much standing with Prime Minister Imran Khan and the PTI government, he said.
The Punjab governor stated that it had been the result of well-conceived and successful policies of the government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan that Pakistan was saved from being bankrupt. “We have also initiated dozens of public welfare projects, including Naya Pakistan Housing Project for the homeless, Kamyaab Noujawan Programme, Ehsas Programme and Insaf Sehat Card scheme. Local and foreign investors’ confidence has been restored and foreign investment is rising speedily. There is no doubt in it that year 2020 will prove to be the year of development, prosperity, stability and jobs creation for Pakistan,” he maintained.
The governor said that PTI had strengthen the parliament, democracy and the institutionsl and first time in the country’s history, the institutions had been purged of political interference and all their decisions were being made on merit and transparently.
Strengthening institutions is ensuring country’s stability that is not being absorbed by the opposition, he said and advised the opposition to play its positive role in and out of the parliament instead of coming up with new tricks.
The Punjab governor said that the federal and provincial governments are taking concrete measures on an emergency basis to do away with the issue of price-hike, assuring that hoarders would be taken to task strictly and relief would be provided to the masses at all costs.
