City Olympiad held

Islamabad : Students representing schools from all over Islamabad took part in City Olympiad II organised by City School Network North.

The activity filled event kicked off with the opening ceremony featuring lighting of the torches and chief guests Sana Mahmud, Captain of the Pakistan Women's Football and Basketball teams, and Badar Rehman, Regional Director, The City School Network North officially declaring the games open.

An exhibition match of Special Olympics athletes and students from participating school inaugurated the tournament.

Perhaps the most exhilarating part of the opening ceremony was when the Presidents, the A Levels Head boy Muhammad Ali and Fatima Usman Butt repelled against the Girls Section building. This not only caught the attention of those in attendance, but also increased their level of anticipation, towards the event.

The opening ceremony aimed to get the attendees in spirit for the event. Both Presidents, Qandeel Ejaz and Faeiz Javed, delivered speeches, wishing the participating schools good luck and appreciating their hard work and dedication. This was followed by the lighting of the torches which indicated the commencing of the ceremony. The cricket tournament, which also took place on the first day had the audience on the edge of their seats and resulted in CCI emerging victorious against Froebel's Pindi.

The second day saw more participants and even greater enthusiasm. The students' displayed great sportsmanship spirit and eagerness to take part in the occasion. Certificates were distributed among the winning teams on the concluding day.

Witnessing the fervor that both the players and the audience have displayed, it's safe to say that the future of Pakistan sports is bright.
