This refers to the letter ‘Attestation’ (Jan 16, 2020) by Nisar Ahmed. I fully endorse the concerns expressed by the writer. It has become a problem to get the required documents attested from the authorized officers. In this context, it is suggested that NADRA may be requested to find some digital solution to solve the problem. The original documents may be chipped so that the photo copies are automatically verified.
However, in the meantime, in addition to the banking officers, retired government officers like civil servants, education officers and armed forces officers etc, may also be allowed to attest the documents. These officers should be required to mention their ID card number and their address while attesting any document.
