KARACHI: The Sindh government and the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch a system of online for the same-day issuance of computerised birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates from every union council/union committee.
The ceremony to sign the MoU was held at the Sindh Secretariat as Local Government Secretary Roshan Ali Shaikh signed the agreement along with the director general of Nadra, Sindh.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial local government minister said Sindh would become the first province in the country to launch an online system for issuing Nadra’s computerised certificates. He said that along with the union committees or union councils, the online system would also be launched in the cantonment boards of the province.
He said the online system would greatly benefit the masses of the province and it would also help end fraudulent practices being observed in issuing these certificates.
