LAHORE:The Punjab government Thursday increased number of chances of appearing in exams for unsuccessful students of the Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE).
This decision was made in a meeting of Punjab Board of Technical Education chaired by Minister for Trade and Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal. The meeting reviewed the board financial and administrative matters.
Addressing the meeting, Aslam Iqbal said PBTE will be modernised to meet the modern-day challenges. The technical institutions have been brought under one roof through the platform of Punjab Skills Development Authority, he added.
He said chief minister’s Honarmand Programme has been launched to give latest skills training to one lac additional students every year. He directed for devising a suitable mechanism for employment of skilled workers in the market.
He said organisational capacity of PBTE will be increased for holding practical exams as this would help to achieve the goals of this board. He added that labs of technical institutions will also be upgraded and directed that technical educational board should be digitalised and latest technology should be used to improve efficiency and performance. He directed that finance department’s guidelines be followed in financial matters of PBTE. Secretary Industries Zafar Iqbal, Chairman, PBTE, Muhammad Nazar Khan Niazi and others attended the meeting.
