PESHAWAR: Nine people, including two policemen and five women, were injured in an explosion near the Karkhano police checkpost on Tuesday night.
Heavy contingents of police cordoned off the area after the explosion. The place where the blast occurred is the boundary between Peshawar and Khyber districts. Assistant Inspector General of the Bomb Disposal Unit Shafqat Malik told reporters that the explosives were not planted but someone lobbed them. “It seems to be a hand-grenade was lobbed by the attackers,” said the official.
