The Sindh government has set January 31 as the last date for the filing of property and professional tax, according to a statement the by Sindh Excise on Monday.
The statement said no extension would be given this time because the government had already extended the last date for one month – which was earlier December 31. The directive was passed by Sindh Minister for Excise & Taxation, Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla while presiding over a meeting in his office.
Secretary Excise & Taxation (ET) and Narcotics Control (NC) Abdul Halim Shaikh, Director General ET & NC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui , Director Taxes-I Shabuddin Khatri and Director Taxes-II Iqbal Ahmed Laghari attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Siddiqui said a massive awareness campaign had been launched through the media to inform people about the last date for the filing of property and professional tax.
Addressing the meeting, the minister asked the relevant directors to speed up the issuance of challans in order to get proper response from tax taxpayers.
