Traffic warden beats up rickshaw driver
LAHORE:Traffic wardens allegedly manhandled citizens on Monday and slapped a rickshaw driver on Mall Road.
Sector In charge Akbar stopped rickshaw driver Waqas and demanded documents. They exchanged harsh words which led Warden Akbar to allegedly slap his face. The driver threatened to set himself ablaze over which he was taken to police station. Earlier, commuters remained stuck on roads during rain as the wardens had disappeared and did not remove barriers from different roads placed for MWM rally on Sunday. The barriers added miseries to the woes of commuters already stuck in rain. On Sunday, a warden had manhandled Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, abused him and hurled him life threats.
No action was taken against the ‘daring’ warden who exposed tall claims of the IG and the CM for zero tolerance over misbehaviour with the citizens.
