Temperature again drops to 80C as more cool nights forecast
Karachiites experienced another cold night when temperature again dropped to eight degrees Celsius on the night between Thursday and Friday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The met office said the city would have more cold nights – at least four – with chances of cloudy weather and possibility of light rain on Sunday.
“Last night, mercury again dropped to eight degree Celsius. We are expecting to have chilly winds on Saturday – and strong chilly winds on Sunday”, said Anjum Nazir, a spokesman for the PMD on Friday.
The PMD official said a strong westerly disturbance had entered the province of Balochistan from the neighbouring Iran. Under its influence, he said, heavy rains and snowfall were being witnessed in Balochistan. “This system will also affect the weather in Karachi and cold wave will continue in the days to come,” he added.
