Eight illegal structures demolished

LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority (LDA) launched a grand operation against illegal constructions in the city and demolished around eight commercial and residential buildings here Thursday.

Officials said the operation was started on the directions of LDA’s newly-appointed DG who himself supervised the operation. LDA teams demolished illegal buildings in Muslim Town, Gulberg, Johar Town and Allama Iqbal Town.

The officials said the LDA team demolished a building constructed on Plot # 15 in Muslim Town, a shop adjacent to a mosque in Liberty Market, a commercial plaza constructed on 439 E, Johar Town, a marquee and other commercial structure constructed on plot # 148, 149 and 150 D-Block, while another commercial building constructed on 897 R Block, Johar Town.

Similar operation was done in Karim Block, Allama Iqbal Town where LDA team demolished a commercial hall constructed on 406 Nishter Block, a commercial billboard was removed from 751 Nishter Block, illegal shops constructed on 609 Umer Block were demolished and another illegal construction was removed from 167 Karim Block. LDA team also sealed a commercial plaza constructed on 436 E, Johar Town.
